Mechanism of Action
Endogenous nonapeptide (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu) that crosses the blood-brain barrier and interacts with the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis. Proposed to shift the GHRH:CRH balance toward GHRH-dominant signaling, and has documented effects on cardiac autonomic tone and stress-hormone release under acute stress in animal models.

Dosing Protocol
The best-controlled human trial (Bes et al., 1992) found DSIP improved objective sleep efficiency and latency but concluded short-term treatment was unlikely to provide major clinical benefit for chronic insomnia — the evidence doesn't support outsized sleep claims.
