Gonadorelin

Synthetic Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH)

Low Dose
100 mcg 2x/wk
Medium Dose
100 mcg EOD (3–4x/wk)
Route
SubQ
Cycle Length
Ongoing during TRT

Mechanism of Action

Synthetic decapeptide identical to endogenous GnRH. Binds pituitary GnRH receptors to stimulate LH and FSH release, which in turn maintains intratesticular testosterone production and spermatogenesis — preserving the axis that exogenous testosterone alone suppresses.

Key Benefits

  • Maintains testicular volume and endogenous LH/FSH signaling during TRT
  • Fertility-sparing alternative/adjunct to hCG
  • Short half-life allows pulsatile dosing that better mimics natural GnRH release
  • Avoids the receptor downregulation seen with continuous (non-pulsatile) GnRH exposure

Dosing Protocol

Low / Starting Dose
100 mcg 2x/wk
Medium / Maintenance Dose
100 mcg EOD (3–4x/wk)
Administration Route
SubQ
Half-Life
~10–40 minutes
Frequency
Every other day, pulsatile dosing
Cycle Length
Ongoing during TRT
Protocol Notes

Requires pulsatile (not continuous) dosing to avoid GnRH receptor desensitization — the key practical difference from hCG. Typically run continuously alongside TRT rather than in short cycles.

Ideal Candidates

Men on TRT wanting to preserve testicular function/fertility; used as an alternative to hCG in fertility-sparing protocols.

Side Effects & Safety

Injection site reactions; headache. Continuous (non-pulsatile) dosing can paradoxically suppress the axis — dosing schedule matters more here than with hCG.

Regulatory Status

Compoundable

Historically FDA-approved (e.g., Factrel, Lutrepulse), though those brands are discontinued; now primarily sourced via 503A compounding for TRT-adjunct, fertility-sparing protocols. Confirm current bulks-list status with pharmacy counsel.

What is Gonadorelin?+

Gonadorelin (Synthetic Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH)) is a peptide studied for testicular maintenance and trt adjunct. Synthetic decapeptide identical to endogenous GnRH. Binds pituitary GnRH receptors to stimulate LH and FSH release, which in turn maintains intratesticular testosterone production and spermatogenesis — preserving the axis that exogenous testosterone alone suppresses.

What is the dosing protocol for Gonadorelin?+

Literature commonly references 100 mcg 2x/wk (low) to 100 mcg EOD (3–4x/wk) (maintenance) via SubQ, on a ongoing during trt cycle. Educational reference only — a licensed Stackhaus Health provider sets any personalized protocol.
